Pain & Injury

Acupuncture is used to assist in the management of chronic or acute pain, and can help you with your body’s natural healing process following injury, or a trauma.

Acupuncture involves the insertion of very thin needles through your skin at strategic points on your body. A key component of traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture is most commonly used to treat pain. Increasingly, it is being used for overall wellness, including stress management.

Traditional Chinese medicine explains acupuncture as a technique for balancing the flow of blood, energy or life force, that flow through pathways (Channels) in your body. By inserting needles into specific points along these channels, which assists in the balancing of the body’s movement and function.

At the intersection of modern sports science and traditional Eastern medicine, our clinic specialises in Sports Medicine Acupuncture to treat pain and injuries at their root. We focus on accurate assessment and precise diagnosis – because every injury tells a different story. Whether it’s tendon irritation, ligament strain, or bursitis, understanding the specific tissues involved and the underlying cause is essential for long-term recovery.

Many musculoskeletal issues are linked to nerve entrapment, fascial adhesions, and imbalanced movement patterns. Our approach goes beyond symptom relief. We define and isolate each injury, treating not just the area of discomfort but also the contributing biomechanical and neurological dysfunctions.

From chronic tendon pain to acute ligament trauma or inflammatory conditions like bursitis, we use evidence-informed acupuncture techniques combined with orthopedic testing, motor point therapy, and myofascial release. This comprehensive method allows us to directly influence the nervous system, restore circulation, and stimulate tissue regeneration.

Most clients experience a 50–80% improvement in pain, mobility, and function by the end of their first session. Our mission is to reset your body’s healing systems through precision care—bridging the gap between injury and full recovery with measurable results.

Myofascia Cupping:

Traditional Chinese cupping is used to assist in:

  • Alleviating tight and sore muscles,
Moves lymph fluid through the body and bolsters the body’s immune system
  • Breaks up adhesion and scarring after surgery or trauma, softens the muscles tissues making them pliable and help reduce pain,
benefiting those suffering from respiratory ailments such as colds, asthma, allergies and bronchitis
  • Acts in a way that opens the skins pores, which help stimulate the flow of Blood, balances and realigns the flow of Qi by breaking up obstructions and creates an avenue for toxins to be drawn out of the body

Electro Acupuncture:

Electro acupuncture is similar to acupuncture, a widely practiced form of traditional Chinese  medicine (TCM). Acupuncture involves the use of thin needles to stimulate specific pressure  points linked to unwanted symptoms. Some mild electric current passes between the  acupuncture needles during treatment. This current generally applies more stimulation to  specific acupoints, rather than needle twirling or other hand manipulation techniques a  qualified acupuncturist might use.

Electro acupuncture is used to assist in the treatment of a range of symptoms, health issues  & management of:

  • Neurological disorders
  • Chronic and acute pain
  • Stress
  • Helps with soft tissue damage, in promoting blood flow by bringing warmth to the muscles or area
  • Is used in the treatment of Sports injuries or muscle

“Electro-Acupuncture stimulation increases hypothalamic functional connectivity and  triggers the release of Mesenchymal stem cells into the blood stream, promoting new or  replacing various types of tissues within the body after injury or chronic illness” (Salazar,  Richardson, Beli & Ripsch, 2020. Electro acupuncture promotes CNS-dependant release of Mesenchymal stem cells)
