Combined Traditional Chinese Medicine & Sports Medicine. Using an integrative & holistic approach to get to the root cause of your chronic pain.

Mark

Hi, I’m Mark. I’m a qualified acupuncturist with a bachelor of applied science in acupuncture and a masters in sports medicine acupuncture. I am the first qualified sports medicine acupuncturist in Australia to be practicing this method after USA leading acupuncturist Matt Callison.

I’ve had a few other careers before settling on this journey, but I have finally found my purpose through acupuncture and Chinese medicine. I’m dedicated and passionate about furthering my studies and participating in various masterclasses to continuously refine this art form.

I have a deep understanding and respect for Chinese medicine and it’s intricate relationship to nature and our bodies. I’m able to articulate in a palpable way for each individual to understand what’s going on for them from a Chinese medicine perspective. I genuinely love helping people, getting to the root cause and seeing people get the results that they once thought impossible.

Sports medicine acupuncture focuses on treating injuries and chronic pain related to sports or physical activity. It combines traditional Chinese acupuncture techniques with knowledge of sports medicine and anatomy to provide targeted relief for athletes and active individuals. I offer a holistic approach to treating chronic pain, addressing both the physical and emotional aspects of injury and helping you get back to an active lifestyle safely and effectively.

When it comes to chronic pain, sports medicine acupuncture can be particularly effective. By targeting specific trigger points, muscle knots, and areas of tension, acupuncture can release tight muscles, improve blood flow, and stimulate the body’s natural healing process.

One of the key benefits of this modality is it’s ability to provide both immediate pain relief and long-term healing. Acupuncture needles are inserted into specific points on the body which can help alleviate pain by promoting the release of endorphins, the body’s natural painkillers, and reduce inflammation.

I also help address the underlying causes of chronic pain, such as muscle imbalances, poor posture, or overuse injuries. By restoring balance to the body and addressing these underlying issues, sports medicine acupuncture can help prevent future injuries and promote overall wellness.

Rhiarna

Hi, I’m Rhiarna. I’m a qualified Zen Thai Shiatsu Therapist. I am also qualified in trigger point therapy (myofascial release techniques), Wuo Tai, belly/organ massage, pregnancy Zen Thai, yoga teaching, and fitness (holistic personal training specialist).
At Real Body Therapy I offer a range of different therapies according to your needs – each session is uniquely crafted for each individual.

I first experienced Zen Thai Shiatsu in a yoga class. It resonated with me completely and ignited my soul. From then, I embarked on a journey to study it. I graduated in 2014 as a Zen Thai therapist and have had a regular practice since.

Zen Thai Shiatsu ecompasses all aspects of being human; physical, mental/emotional and spiritual. It is the heart fullness practice where I support you through a rhythmic fluid dance from one therapeutic gesture to another. My practice encompasses the intertwining of Zen Thai Shiatsu and Wuo Tai (the combination of dance and osteopathy to unravel the fascia), with traditional Chinese medicine also woven throughout.

Movement is my language, connecting with others through my practice; the place where I feel at home, connected, and where all things make sense.

I am originally from Cairns QLD. Outside of Zen Thai, my joys are bushwalking, swimming in the ocean, bare foot training, yoga, and spending time with my family.
